Arsenal are exploring a loan move for Spanish international Dani Olmo.

Signed by Barcelona from RB Leipzig last summer, the club’s financial situation meant that they could only register him on a provisional basis until December 31st. Last week a commercial court in Barcelona ruled that his registration could not be extended, and an appeal against that decision has now been rejected.

A clause in his contract means that, in theory, he could now leave Barcelona as a free agent, but, as a last resort, the Catalans would prefer that he went on loan, with a view to returning to them when their financial situation has improved.

Both Manchester clubs and PSG have expressed an interest in taking him, but Arsenal are also ready to throw their hat in the ring as they look to cover for the absence of Bukayo Saka, who is likely to be out for at least three months after undergoing a procedure to fix his torn right hamstring.
