Arsenal are set to appoint Jonathan Kaye, a recruitment analyst who is currently orking with Southampton.
Kaye joined Southampton from Cambridge United and his job at the South Coast club involved date-driven scouting and compiling background assessments on potential transfer targets.
Among the players signed by Southampton after he had already extensively research them wwere Romeo Lavia and Timo Livramento (both of whom were then sold for substantial profits).
He is expected to fulfil a similar job at Arsenal, where Sporting Director Edu has already revealed the detailed work that the club undergoes before it tries to sign any player, with detailed dossiers assembled on all targets assessing their physical, mental and emotional capabilities.
The Brazilian has also said that signings are never made by the Gunners just for the sake of it, but only after analysing current squad deficiencies and how a player might help address them.
Mikel Arteta will also be heavily involved in the process once a signing looks like it might come to fruition.
