Liverpool are set to join Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea in the hunt for the signature of Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey, reports the Metro.
The 20-year old forward has been one of the stars of the Bundesliga this season, putting in a series of eye-catching displays which have seen him score 10 goals and 5 assists in 22 appearances. Chelsea were reported to have offered £20 million for the Jamaican in the January window but that was turned down, which is likely to trigger a bidding war for his services in the summer.
Liverpool were linked heavily with a move for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, but have now turned their attention elsewhere as they seek a replacement for Phillipe Coutinho because they believe the Frenchman favours a move to Barcelona.
Bailey is not likely to come cheap, with Leverkusen officials suggesting a fee of £100 million might be needed to prise him away from Germany. A fee in that order would represent a huge profit for Bayer for a player who they bought for €20 million (£18 million) from Belgian club Genk only last summer.
