Both Inter Milan and Barcelona are interested in signing Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea.
Although the Argentine World Cup winner was signed for a British record fee of ₤107 million from Benfica in 2023, he has struggled to settle down in London. That has been compounded by some problems in his personal life.
The player himself has admitted that he has struggled to live up to his price tag.
There were also accusations of racism after Fernandez was one of the players captured on video singing an offensive song after Argentina won the Copa América in the summer.
And he has recently lost his starting place, with Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia preferred in the heart of the Chelsea midfield for their Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford at the weekend.
That has prompted speculation that both he and the club may be prepared to cut their losses, and that both Inter and Barcelona may be more welcoming environments for him.
