Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town are both keeping tracking on Ben Chilwell’s situation at Chelsea ahead of a potential January move for the left-back.
The 27-year old came close to leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer, but failed to find a new club.
At one stage the England international seemed destined to become part of the so-called ‘bomb squad’ under Enzo Maresca, before the Italian decided to name in his 25 man Premier League squad.
Despite that, he does not appear likely to get many first-team minutes if he remains at Chelsea, and it may be optimal for both player and club if he can move elsewhere.
His last appearance for the club was in their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City at Wembley back in April.
Despite his sporadic appearances, Chilwell remains the fourth highest earner at the club, with a weekly salary which is estimated at ₤200,000.
