Mikel Arteta has begun to lose patience with Gabriel Jesus and may look to sign a replacement in the next transfer window.

Jesus has not scored for the Gunners since January, and appears to have lost confidence in front of goal, with a tendency to over complicate things in the build-up play.

Given another opportunity to start against Southampton in the Premier League at the weekend, he again fluffed his lines, and it was only when he taken off to be replaced by Leandro Trossard that the Gunners front line rediscovered some of its fluency.

When he was signed from Manchester City in the summer of 2022 he was viewed as  a player who could elevate the Gunners to the next level. Instead, though, it looks like it is the club who is leaving him behind.

The Brazilian still has time to rediscover his form, but that is fast running out for a striker who has never been the most prolific anyway.
