Arsenal will bank a seven sum transfer windfall from the sale of one of their former players.
Last summer, the Gunners sold Danish striker Mika Biereth to Austrian side Sturm Grax, but inserted a hefty sell-on clause in the deal.
And now he is on the move again, with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco having agreed a deal for him. They will pay an initial ₤10.8 million for him, with an additional ₤1.75 million in add-ons, provided that he passes his medical.
There he will link up with another former Arsenal striker in Folarin Balogun.
Biereth never played a senior game for Arsenal, instead enjoying loan spells in the Netherlands with RKC Waalrijk, and in Scotland with Motherwell, before joining Sturm Graz.
Given that the Dane managed 11 goals in 16 games during his time in Austria, some Arsenal fans may wonder why he was not given an opportunity at the Emirates, given their well-documented issues in front of goal.
