Attempts so far by Arsenal to agree a contract extension with Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey have so far been unsuccessful.
The 31-year old is out of contract in the summer, and that means that he is free to discuss a possible move with other clubs in January, and the Gunners could lose him for free at the end of the season.
It comes as Partey is having one of his best seasons in an Arsenal shirt, which has coincided with him being able to stay fit for an extended period of time, for virtually the first time since he hads been at The Emirates.
That is despite the fact that he has often been asked to fill in at right-back because of the defensive injury crisis that the club has been suffering.
Partey has previously indicated that he would like to stay in North London, but the length of contract the club are willing to offer him may be a sticking point.
