Newcastle United are among the clubs monitoring Chelsea youngster Josh Acheampong.
There have also been suggestions that Real Madrid, as well as Liverpool and Tottenham are also keeping tabs on him.
Acheampong is a Chelsea academy graduate who normally plays as a right back, althougne can double up as a central defender.
He signed his first professional contact at the start of this calendar year, and made his own senior appearance as a substitute in Chelsea’s Premier League derby against Tottenham in May.
Although he is under contract until 2026, and is highly thought of at Stamford Bridge, so great is the competition for first-team places at the club, that he is not guaranteed any game time under Enzo Maresca, especially since club captain, Reece James, who plays in his position, has been restored to fitness again.
It would not be the first time a Chelsea full-back has joined Newcastle in recent years.
Lewis Hall made the same journey in 2023.
Chelsea have made it clear to the player he will not feature for them unless he signs a new contract, so an exit may become inevitable.
