AC Milan have agreed a fee to sign Chelsea forward Christopher Nkonku.

The fee, which has been negotiated between the two clubs, is ₤36 million, with agreed add-ons and bonuses. Chelsea have protected the value of their investment by inserting a sell-on clause in the deal.

Nkonku has now been given permission to travel to Italy to undergo his medical and complete the formalities before the transfer is ratified. The French international has accepted a pay cut to make the move, allowing him to play regular first-team football now.

Signed from RB Leipzig in 2023 for ₤52 million, Nkonku, whose early time at Stamford Bridge was badly affected by injury, played 62 games for Chelsea, scoring 18 goals and providing five assists. He leaves as a medal winner, having played a significant role in Chelsea’s victories in both the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup last season.
