18 year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly is set for a new deal with Arsenal.

The academy graduate has burst on to the scene at the Emirates this season, making 15 appearances already for the North London club, despite the fact that he is playing out of position at left-back, having been brought up as a central midfielder. He signed his last professional contract only in October, but it is already felt that he needs to be rewarded for what he has achieved.

His performance against Spurs in the North London derby has already made him a cult figure with the club’s fans, full of passion and aggression, but also possessed of a high level of technical skill as well. Recognising that they have a special talent on their hands, the club now want to tie him down to a new long-term deal, something he is ready to sign.

The new England manager Thomas Tuchel was in attendance at the Emirates for that match, and, although Lewis-Skelly is still very young, he is already being tipped as a future international.
