Spanish striker Marc Guiu is hoping that he will be allowed to return to Sunderland in the Januray transfer window, despite Chelsea recalling him from his loan spell with them only in August.
The Blues exercised an option to recall Guiu after Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury, but, since he has been back at Stamford Bridge, he has yet to enjoy a first-team minute, although he has sat on the bench a number of times.
That has led to theories that Chelsea intend to use Guiu in a swap deal in January, and that he could join sister club Strasbourg in Ligue 1, allowing the West London club to accelerate the deal to sign Emmanuel Emegha.
Chelsea have already agreed to sign Emegha, but that was previously scheduled to occur next summer.
Guiu, though, has his own ideas about his next club, and would prefer to stay in the Premier League with the Black Cats.
