Felix named second worst Premier League signing

A recent survey evaluating the worst Premier League signings of the season so far so João Felix coming in second.

Felix had spent the second half of the 2022 – 2023 season on loan at Chelsea, but did not make a great impression then, so it was something of a surprise when the West London club went back for him in the summer, signing him permanently for a fee of ₤45 million.

However, the form of Cole Palmer has meant that the Portuguese has had to bide his time, with most of his appearances so far confined to those of a substitute.

Chelsea fans, though, can console themselves with having dodged one bullet.

The player who was judged the worst signing of the season so far as Manchester United defender, Matthis de Ligt, another player with whom they were previously linked.
