Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is set to return to Leicester City on loan in January.
The 26 year old midfielder followed his manager Enzo Maresca to Chelsea in the summer, but he has had a frustrating time at Stamford Bridge so far, starting just eight games, most of them in the Europa Conference League.
His Premier League minutes so far have been restricted to just 55 minutes, and with the competition for places at Stamford Bridge intense, that situation does not look like it will improve for him any time soon.
However, at this stage, Chelsea are not prepared to give up on him altogether, and believe that a loan would be in his best interests.
Dewsbury-Hall played a key role as Leicester were promoted from the Championship at the first attempt last season, and would also be guaranteed a starting role under Ruud van Nistelroy as he attempts to ensure that they guarantee their Premier League survival in the second half of the season.
