Chelsea might try and sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United before the transfer window closes.
Sancho is back at Old Trafford having spent the second half of last season on loan, but the truce between him and manager Erik ten Hag appears a temporary one, and he was left out of the squad for their opening Premier League fixture against Fulham.
United would also certainly prefer to sell him permanently but his wages of ₤250,000 a week make him hard to shift, and they could be prepared to allow him to make another loan move.
Whilst Chelsea would appear well-stocked already when it comes to wingers, they do potentially have a place in their squad now that Raheem Sterling has been told he is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
And, given that Sancho was born and raised in London, a move back south might appeal to the player, as well as the prospects or reviving his flagging international career.
