Question marks over the Chelsea transfer policy are once again being asked following news of the huge potential loss they are facing on goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Signed for a world record fee for a goalkeeper in 2018 of ₤72 million, he spent the entirety of last season on loan at Real Madrid, but returned to Stamford Bridge at the start of the summer.
However, with Chelsea already having several other goalkeepers and having signed additional recruits in the position, Kepa was forced to seek a move away.
With the Spaniard set to become a free agent, Chelsea sought to protect the value of their investment by getting him to agree to a one-year contract extension. They then allowed him ot join Bournemouth on loan.
It has now been revealed, however, that, if the South Coast club want to make the move permanent, then the value of his release clause is just ₤5 million.
