Chelsea may have made an impressive start to the season, and sit second in the Premier League at Christmas, but there is no signs of anybody sitting on their laurels at Stamford Bridge.
Despite spending over ₤2 billion on new players since the Todd Boehly consortium bought the club, they are expected to be busy in the transfer market again when it opens in January, with Enzo Maresca targeting up to four players. These may include a new goalkeeper, central defender and wide player with Mykhailo Mudryk potentially facing a lengthy ban after his failed drugs test.
A number of players may also be allowed to leave on loan, including summer signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Cesare Casedei, and Carney Chukwuemaka.
They are also hoping to find a buyer for Ben Chilwell, having failed to move on the left-back in the summer. He has been linked with Manchester United in the past, although Rúben Amórim is reported to be looking at other targets.
