Chelsea have joined Manchester City among the growing list of admirers for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson.

The 22 year old has risen to prominence this season after forcing his way into Thomas Tuchel’s England squad, where he has already established himself as a partner in midfield for Declan Rice.

A product of the Newcastle youth system, they were forced to sell him to Forest in 2024 in order to comply with Financial Fair Play requirements.

But the East Midlands club may not be able to hold on to him much longer, with Anderson having ambitions to play for a Champions League club.

Any approach for him is unlikely to be cheap. There is already talk of a ₤75 million valuation and that could go higher if he becomes the subject of a bidding war.

City are viewing him as a long-term potential replacement for Ballon d’Or winner Rodri, who is being linked with a move back to Spain and Real Madrid.
