Saudi Pro-League side Al-Nassr have agreed to sign Portuguese international João Félix from Chelsea for a fee of ₤43.7 million.
He has now been given permission to travel to Riyadh to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of his move, where one of his team-mates will be fellow Portuguese internationla Cristiano Ronaldo.
And it also means that Chelsea have recouped the ₤45 million that they paid Atlético Madrid for the forward last summer, especially when the ₤5 million loan fee AC Milan paid for him in January is taken into account.
It brings to an end what was a largely unimpressive time in London across two spells. Initially signed on loan in 2023 before making the move permanent a year later, he rarely produced the sort of form that persuaded Atlético to make him the most expensive teenager in the world, when they bought him from Benfica back in 2019 for ₤113 million.
Félix did win silverware during his time at Chelsea. He played enough games to qualify for a UEFA Conference League winner’s medal, even though he was playing in Italy at the time of the final against Real Betis.
