Bournemouth have agreed to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrović for a fee of ₤25 million.

The South Coast side have been seeking a new number one to replace another former Chelsea keeper. Kepa Arrizabalaga spent last season on loan there before returning to Stamford Bridge. He has subsequently left for Arsenal in a permanent move.

Petrović himself  spent the 2024-2025 season on loan at Chelsea’s parent club Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

However, he had been given permission to find a new club, and there was a “gentleman’s” agreement in place about the fee that Chelsea would accept for the Serbian international.

Petrović was looking for assurances about regular game time, something Chelsea were unable to provide.

He will depart having played 31 times for Chelsea since signing from MLS side New England Revolution, but he was not part of the squad that travelled to the US to participate in the Club World Cup.
