Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Victor Ozhianvuna from Irish side Shamrock Rovers.
Their manager Stephen Bradley has confirmed they are in advanced talks with a foreign team to sell the 16 year old, whilst separate reports in Ireland have confirmed that the club in question is Arenal.
It has also been indicated that the fee will shatter the record for a League of Ireland player. That was set earlier this year when Tottenham bought Mason Melia from St, Patrick’s, for a sum that could eventually reach ₤3.4 million.
Given his age and under Brexit-related regulations, Arsenal fans will not though see him in the famous red and white short anytime soon. He cannot join a club in the UK until he turns 18, but Arsenal have decided to make their move for him now, beating a number of other clubs to the punch.
Ozhianvuna is a midfielder and has Russian and Nigerian parentage. He has been capped by the Republic of Ireland at both under-15 and under-17 level.
