Sunderland are one of the surprise teams in the Championship this season so far – they currently have a five point lead at the top of the table.
And one player who has caught the eye is 17 year old midfielder Chris Rigg, who has scored three goals for them in eleven league games. Rigg has already drawn comparisons with Roy Keane, due to his fiercely competitive spirit and will to win. That is allied with a high degree of technical skill, exceptional vision and a wide range of passing.
Already the North-East club has slapped a ₤30 million price tag on his head.
That has not stopped, though, a growing list of admirers, which number among them Arsenal, Brighton and Wolves.
Meanwhile, Chelsea, who have a strategy of investing heavily in young talent, are also heavily interested, with Manchester United seen as their fiercest rivals should it develop into a bidding war.
