Chelsea are one of the clubs reported to be interested in signing central defender Abdukodir Khusanov who currently plays for Ligue 1 side RC Lens.

The 20 year old is attracting interest from a number of other Premier League clubs, with Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Newcastle and Crystal Palace all keeping an eye on his situation.

Other European clubs are also monitoring his development.

Khusanov was born in Uzbekistan, but broke into senior football via a club in Belarus.

Lens signed him in 2023, and he has gone on to make 23 senior appearances for him.

He has already won 14 caps for the Uzbek national side.

Should the transfer go through, he would be the first man from his country to play n the Premier League.

The reported asking price is ₤20 million, although there are questions about how much game time he might get at Chelsea, given the multiple options they currently have in almost every position at the club.
