The latest injury suffered by Gabriel Jesus may force Arsenal into the market to try and sign another forward before the transfer window closes.

The Brazilian admitted to some discomfort in his groin after training last week, and was left out of the squad which travelled to Villa Park for the Premier League game at the weekend.

He is now due to have an MRI scan to determine the extent of the problem, but, if it means he will be out for any length of time, Arsenal are short when it comes to forward options.

Apart from Leandro Trossard who came on and helped changed the game, Arsenal’s only forward options against Aston Villa were Eddie Nketiah, and Reiss Nelson, both of whom have been linked with moves away from the Emirates before the window closes.

The Gunners were already looking for a player who could give Saka some rest ahead of what promises to be another busy and highly competitive season.
