Tottenham re-sign Dutch goalkeeper

Tottenham have res-signed Dutch goalkeeper Michel Vorm – just three months after they released him from White Hart Lane.

That is because they are desperate for cover in the goalkeeping department, following the injury that Hugo Lloris suffered in their last league match before the international break against Brighton, dislocating an elbow after failing to deal with an innocuous cross from Pascal Gross.

With Lloris not expected to return until the New Year at the latest, Paulo Gazzaniga is the only fit senior goalkeeper at the club, so Vorm’s return will add some depth to their squad.

Vorm joined Spurs in 2014 from Swansea City, and made 13 appearances for the club in a five year period. The 35 year old also played 15 times for the Netherlands. Spurs are able to sign Vorm outside of the transfer window because he was released on a free transfer, similar to the way that Liverpool signed Adrian at the start of the season.
