Spurs linked with Spanish winger

Tottenham are considering a summer move for Real Madrid winger Lucas Vázquez.

The 28 year old has found himself on the periphery under Zinedine Zidane this season, making just 14 appearances, with injury and a loss of form hindering his progress. A calf injury means he has not featured for the Spanish league leaders since the restart of the season.

Jose Mourinho knows Vázquez well because he was a reserve player under him when he was in charge of Real, and, with his contract due to expire next year, there is a chance that Spurs will be able to sign him cheaply.

Madrid want £22.5 million for their academy graduate but, given the financial limitations of the transfer market this year, Spurs think they can bargain that down to around £15 million.

During his time at the Bernabeu, Vázquez, who has eight full caps for Spain, has won the league title once, the Champions League three times, and the FIFA Club World Cup on two occasions.
