Spanish side Real Sociedad have decided not to make the loan of left-back Kieran Tierney permanent.
The Scottish international joined the La Liga side from Arsenal on a season-long loan in the summer, with hopes high that he would be able to establish himself in La Liga.
However, the injury issues that have haunted him in recent seasons, soon returned, and he spent almost two months on the sideline before finally returning.
However, although now fit again, he has only appeared on the substitute’s bench for Sociedad’s last two fixtures.
And already the club have decided not to make the arrangement permanent.
That means an almost certain return to the Emirates at the end of the season, although he would n not appear to have any future under Mikel Arteta, the style of play having evolved without him.
He currently has two and a half years left on his contract with Arsenal, so now they may have to begin alternative discussions about his future.
