Martin Ødegaard is set to be offered a new contract by Arsenal.
The 24 year old club captain has been one of the main reasons why the Gunners are mounting a sustained title challenge this season, and now they want to reward him with a new long-term deal.
The Norwegian international first joined the club on loan from Real Madrid two years ago, with the move made permanent six months later.
He was appointed club captain last summer following the departure of both Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexander Lacazette from the Emirates.
He is already under contract until 2025, but Arsenal want to replace that contract with a new seven deal on significantly improved terms that would extend his stay in North London until 2030.
This is part of a broader policy now being applied by the Gunners to tie all their key players down to ong-term contracts in North London.
