Brighton striker Glenn Murray is not talking to the club about a new deal, despite being out of contact at the end of the season.
The former Crystal Palace striker has been top scorer at the club for the past two seasons, and the club were hugely indebted to the 14 Premier League goals that he scored last season which helped them stay up.
He has also started this season in fine form, and it was his injury-time penalty that earned his side a precious point at Southampton on Monday night.
However, speaking to talkSPORT on Friday he said “We spoke about it in the summer, but I’ve put it to bed now. I’m fully focussed on the season and trying to get as many goals as possible.
“I’ll revisit it next summer, but for now I’ve let that situation go.”
Off the field, Murray and his wife are still facing legal charges after they were arrested in connection with a £1.1 million tax fraud earlier this year.
