Mourinho considering Džeko move

Jose Mourinho is considering a move to bring former Manchester City striker Edin Džeko to White Hart Lane in January.

The Tottenham manager is keen to alleviate the burden on Harry Kane as the club’s main striker, with teenager Troy Parrott currently the only available option to the England captain.

And now he has identified 34-year old Džeko, who moved to Roma from City four years ago, and has since established a reputation as one of the most reliable and consistent goal-scorers in Serie A.

He signed a new two year contract with Roma in the summer, but Mourinho is convinced that he still has the necessary fitness to play in the Premier League again, having had scouts watch him in action for his club last week.

The Bosnian international scored 50 goals in 130 appearances for City between 2011 and 2015, helping them win two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup.
