Christhian Mosquera’s move from Valencia to Arsenal has got closer, and reports in Spain suggest that it may already be complete.
The Spanish under-21 international has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners, and they hope that they can complete the signing in time for him to be part of the squad that flys out to the Far East for their pre-season tour.
Mosquera can operate both at centre-back and right-back, and offers some needed defensive cover, especially following the early termination of Takehiro Tomiyasu’s contract, with both parties agreed that the Japanese international’s fitness issues could not be resolved in the short-term..
He made 90 appearances for Valencia since breaking into their team, and played every minute of 37 of their league games last season.
He may be the third signing at the Emirates this week, with Noni Madueke having already passed his medical, whilst a deal for Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres has finally been agreed with Sporting Lisbon.
