Manchester United boosted by Bellingham news

Manchester United’s hopes of signing Birmingham City teenager Jude Bellingham has been given a boost.

The 16 year old was thought to be close to agreeing a move to Borussia Dortmund, following in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho, with the German side ready to offer him the chance of regular first-team football, something he would have to wait for with a Premier League side.

However, with Birmingham demanding a fee of £31.3 million for the midfielder, there are now doubts as to whether they can afford him. They are only prepared to buy him for £18 million, a price difference that could give Manchester United the chance to step in for a player they have long coveted.

Earlier this year United tried to woo Bellingham and his parents with a private tour of their training ground at Carrington, and they could now get the chance to add him to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad for next season.
