Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been put on the transfer list by Arsenal.
That is despite the 22-year old starting both the FA Cup semi-final and final for the club and having shown an increased level of maturity under Mikel Arteta.
However, the club, which earlier this week announced 55 redundancies as well as the dismantling of their European scouting network, are looking to raise funds, and an academy product like Maitland-Niles could generate as much as £20 million.
Both Brighton and Everton are reported to be interested in signing him.
Maitland-Niles has proved to be a useful utility player, capable of playing in a variety of positions. He began the season at right-back deputising for the injured Hector Bellerin, although he has always insisted that he regards himself as a midfielder or winger.
