Newly promoted Leicester City are leading the race to sign Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana
Signed from Norwegian club Molde in January 2023, he made four senior appearances for Chelsea in senior football.
He then had spells last season on loan with Union Berlin in the Bundesliga, and Burnley in the Premier League, although, despite scoring four goals for them, including a brace against Fulham, he could not prevent the Lancashire club from being relegated back to the Championship.
He is out of favour at Stamford Bridge, and both VfB Stuttgart and Villareal are among the clubs who have made enquiries as to his availability.
However, Leicester have emerged as the favourites acquire his services, with new manager Steve Cooper keen to bolster his attacking options.
Initially, the East Midlands side are looking at a loan, and Chelsea are happy to accommodate them, provided that any agreement includes an option to buy clause.
