One player that Arsenal are keen to get off their books this summer is full-back Nuno Tavares.
The full-back was signed from Benfica for ₤8 million in the summer of 2021, but has struggled to adapt to the Premier League, and has been found wanting defensively.
He spent last season on loan with Marseille, where he began well, but then faded, and they declined the option to sign him permanently.
This season, he was sent on loan again, this time to Nottingham Forest, but has made just seven appearances for them so far, mainly as a substitute, although injuries have held him back. And, again, although that deal contains an option to buy, it is difficult to envisage the East Midlands club exercising it, especially given the FFP issues they currently face.
However, Serie A club Lazio may now be the answer to the problem. They have indicated that they are willing to take him, and the Gunners are ready to listen to nay half decent offer for a player who promised much, but ultimately failed to deliver.
