Jorginho linked with Italy return

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has been linked with a summer move back to Italy, despite having three years left on his current contract at Stamford Bridge.

It follows reports that Maurizio Sarri wants to be reunited with a player that he signed when he was in charge of Chelsea. Sarri is now manager of Juventus, and previously also worked with Jorginho when the pair were at Napoli together.

And Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has done little to dampen the speculation, saying: “He is a professional so, if an important club in Europe calls, then why not?”

Jorginho did not enjoy the best of starts with Chelsea under Sarri, when he was criticised for his no risk football, and for forcing N’Golo Kanté to play out of position to accommodate him in the team.

However, he enjoyed a resurgence of form under Sarri’s successor Frank Lampard, and had scored seven goals and provided two assists in the current campaign before it was suspended.
