Manchester United are expected to begin talks with midfielder Jesse Lingard about a new contract in the coming weeks.
That is according to The Metro who report that Lingard is due a salary review according to the 4-year deal which he signed with the club back in 2017. That boosted his pay to around £10,000 a week, but he can expect that figure to rise from next year under the new terms.
Lingard has been struggling with a groin injury since coming back from the World Cup, and has not played since coming off the pitch in United’s Carabao Cup defeat to Derby. As a result, he has been left out of England’s squad for their Nations Cup trips to Croatia and Spain.
However, despite this, he is now seen as a key figure at Old Trafford, and worthy of his new deal.
