Inter Milan have increased their bid for Christian Eriksen.
The Italian club want to sign the Danish playmaker from Tottenham Hotspur, and had originally offered £8.5 million for the player. Spurs, however, rejected that offer, and were holding out for their valuation of £17 million for the 27 year old.
Now Inter have raised their bid to £11 million, plus two bonuses, and are hoping that is enough to persuade Spurs to let him leave White Hart lane.
Martin Schoots, Eriksen’s agent met with representatives of Inter in Italy, and now he is due to sit down with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to discuss the situation.
Eriksen is out of contract in the summer, and will be able to leave for free at the end of the season. That may pressure Spurs into accepting the revised offer from Inter, reasoning that is better now to get some return on their asset whilst they still can.
