Arsenal are leading the race to sign Dutch forward Xavi Simmons who impressed playing against them for PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League last season.

He spent just the one year with them before rejoining PSG last summer, but was immediately sent out on loan to RB Leipzig.

Simons has enjoyed a productive season with the Bundesliga club, assisting nine goals and scoring six times himself, and his performances have attracted the likes of Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Barcelona.

PSV do have a buy-back clause and it is uncertain  whether he has a long-term future back in Paris.

However, a move to the Premier League would be an attractive option for Simons, and he would provide a valuable relief option instead of Bukayo Saka on the right, and also offer more goal threat for a team struggling to find the net on a regular basis.

He can also operate on the left.
