Edu Gaspar, Arsenal’s sporting director, has outlined the club’s transfer process, and revealed that they have been working on targets since January.
In an interview with Brazilian media, he explained the processes involved and that any new arrival has to be approved by a number of people.
He cites the example of one player that they have been tracking, on whom a report of more than 180 pages has been compiled, analysing both their physical and mental profile as well as their technique, whether they have Premier League experience, or, if not, whether they will be able to adapt.
The club are expected to back Mikel Arteta in the transfer market again this summer, with a new striker and central midfielder regarded as priorities. They may also be in the market for a new left-back and, if Aaron Ramsdale is allowed to leave the club, a back-up goalkeeper.
