Chelsea defender Malang Sarr has reached an agreement to sign for French club Lens, and is expected to undergo a medical with them shortly.
Sarr was signed from another Ligue 1 side Nice in 2020, but then was sent on loan to Porto for the whole of the following season, where he also featured for their B side.
He returned to Stamford Bridge the following season, where he made 21 appearances in all competitions, all though most of those were either off the bench or in cup competitions.
Despite this, he did pick up a Club World Cup winners medal, although he did not get on the pitch in the final against Palmeiras.
The following year he returned to France, on loan again, this time with Monaco
The move should be beneficial for both club and player. Chelsea get an unwanted player off their books, whilst Sarr should get the opportunity to play regular first-team football again.
