Chelsea considering Maignan again

Chelsea are once again considering a move for French international goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

It follows more question marks over Robert Sánchez, after he was sent off after just four minutes in the Premier League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford at the weekend, putting the Blues at a numerical disadvantage until Casemiro too was shown a red card.

Filip Jorgensen replaced Sánchez during that match, but his performance did not inspire any confidence that he is the answer to what has been a long-standing problem for Chelsea.

Maignan is in the final year of his contract at AC Milan, and although they have offered him a new deal, talks on that have since stalled.

And his position also means that he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement in January with any prospective employer.

This is by no means the first time Chelsea have been linked with Maignan. They were also interested in him in the summer, before he decided to remain with the Serie A club for yet another season.
