Chelsea Close In on New Shirt Sponsor Worth £45 Million

Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are reportedly on the verge of finalizing a new front-of-shirt sponsorship deal valued at around £45 million per year, according to sources cited by Football Insider.

The Blues began the current campaign without a primary shirt sponsor — a situation that has persisted since previous long-term negotiations failed to produce a deal. Initially, the club had set an ambitious target of £60 million for the slot, but that figure has since been revised as the season has already entered its third month.

Talks are said to be in their advanced stages, with a multi-year partnership expected to bring in between £40 million and £45 million annually, beginning this season and continuing into future campaigns.

New Deal Could Mark Fresh Start in Chelsea’s Commercial Strategy

Chelsea’s last major front-of-shirt partnership was with Infinite Athlete, who paid £40 million for the 2023–24 season. Earlier this year, the club also signed a short-term deal with DAMAC, whose branding appeared on shirts for the remainder of the 2024–25 campaign — a collaboration never intended to extend into this season.

Now, reports from The Athletic suggest that Chelsea’s renewed search for a main shirt sponsor is “nearing a conclusion,” with just a few companies left in discussions. The club is expected to announce its decision soon, marking the end of a lengthy negotiation process that has spanned several months.

This development follows significant changes in the club’s commercial leadership after the departure of Chief Revenue Officer Casper Stylsvig. The new structure sees Todd Kline appointed as President of Commercial, Phil Lynch as Chief Digital Officer, and James Murray promoted to Chief Operating Officer — all reporting directly to President Jason Gannon.

Chelsea Secure Sleeve Sponsorship with FPT Corporation

Alongside their main kit negotiations, Chelsea have also been busy finalizing a sleeve sponsorship. Earlier this week, the club confirmed a deal with FPT Corporation, a Vietnam-based technology firm, to feature on the sleeves of the men’s, women’s, and academy kits for the remainder of this season.

The agreement, worth roughly £10 million, was confirmed on 24 October by Football Insider. However, discussions remain ongoing for a long-term deal valued at £15 million per year.

Despite a slight dip in overall turnover — from £512 million in 2022–23 to £468 million in 2023–24 — Chelsea’s commercial income actually grew, rising from £210 million to £225 million over the same period.

Chelsea’s aggressive push to rebuild its sponsorship portfolio highlights the club’s continued focus on strengthening its financial footing under the current ownership — a sign that the commercial rebuild at Stamford Bridge is far from over.
