Former Chelsea captain and England defender Gary Cahill has moved to Crystal Palace.
The 33 year old was a free agent after being released by the Stamford Bridge club at the end of June, and had been linked with a host of clubs, both at home and abroad.
However, whilst Burnley were very interested in signing him Cahill was keen not to uproot his family and wanted to stay in London if possible.
That put Palace in pole position to sign him, especially given the fact that they made a move for him before in the last transfer window.
Now Cahill has made the move to South London, signing a two year deal with a lucrative pay packet of £75,000 a week.
Cahill joined Chelsea from Bolton Wanderers in January 2012, and made some 290 appearances for the club in all competitions before losing his first-team place when Maurizio Sarri was appointed manager.
