Turkish Super Lig champions Beșiktaș want to sign Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
The Egyptian spent the 2019 – 2020 season in loan with the Istanbul side, for whom he made 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring once.
He returned to North London last summer, and forced his way back into Mikel Arteta’s plans making 41 appearances in all, and scoring what was voted their goal of the season I the Europa League against Dundalk.
However, he has now entered the final year of his contract, and the club have made no indications that they are willing to offer him a new deal.
Instead, with Granit Xhaka having signed a contract extension and the arrival of Sambi Lakonga, his game time may be limited in the current campaign, especially with reports that the Gunners still want to bring in another midfielder before the transfer window shuts.
Elneny was an unused substitute during the opening day defeat at Brentford.
