Barcelona are considering a dual raid on Chelsea for Romeo Lavia and Carney Chukwuemeka in the January window.
Lavia has endured a very frustrating start to his Chelsea career. Signed from Southampton in the summer of 2023, a series of injuries meant that he did not make his debut until December, when he got injured again in a match against Crystal Palace.
He was fit enough to play in the opening game of this season against Manchester City, but soon afterwards, the injury curse struck again this time involving his hamstring.
Barcelona director, Deco, is particularly keen on signing Lavia, as he missed out on him when he was with Southampton.
He also believes that he can get a cut-price deal for England under-21 international Chukwuemeka who is clearly not part of Enzo Maresca’s plans.
However, his pursuit of the duo potentially puts him on a collision course with his manager, Hansi Flick, whose preference is to go in a direction, by putting his faith in the young products being produced from the La Masia academy system.
