Arsenal are in talks with striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang about a new contract with the club.
The 30-year old forward, who joined the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund at the end of the January transfer window in January 2018, has proved to be a very shrewd investment by the North London club, scoring 49 goals in 75 appearances. He was joint winner of the Golden Boot last season, and was named Premier League player of September, after scoring five goals for Arsenal during the month.
Now, despite the fact that he still has almost two years left on his current deal, Arsenal want him to commit to a new contract, and are prepared to reward him with a new contract that will see him rival Mesut Ozil as the club’s top earner.
Aubameyang, despite arriving at the Emirates with the reputation as a difficult player, has proved to be an immensely popular figure both on and off the pitch, so Arsenal fans will be desperately keen that he accepts the new deal on offer.
