Arsenal are among the teams interested in signing Brazilian winger Rayan in the January window.
Tottenham and Aston Villa have also been monitoring his progress.
The Gunners had scouts in the stadium for Vasco de Gama’s derby against Fluminense at the weekend and they saw the 19-year old open the scoring for the home side.
That continued his breakthrough season for Vasco, which has seen the youngster, who, although primarily a winger, can also operate as a forward, score 16 goals and provide an assist in 46 games.
The defensive side of his game has also stood out. He has won an average of five duels and been responsible for two ball recoveries per game.
Although Vasco valued him at ₤26 million, indications are that they might accept ₤17 million, plus add-ons and performance related bonuses.
That would appear within reach of the Gunners, despite the large sums of money they spent in the summer window.
