With Chelsea playing Bayern Munich in the Champions League this week, one player who would have been particularly interested in the outcome was Nicolas Jackson.

The Senegalese international joined the Bundesliga club on loan from Chelsea on deadline day, with an option to buy, although Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeness then cast doubt on the deal, insisting that it was highly unlikely that the option would be exercised. He also stated that the 24-year-old must start at least 40 games for Vincent Kompany’s team this season for the option to be triggered something “he will never do.”

But now the situation has been complicated further, with Jackson’s agent insisting that he will never return to Chelsea, and that his relationship with Enzo Maresca is not the best.

The Bundesliga side paid £14.3 million to sign Jackson on loan, and, if they do decide to take him on a permanent basis, that will cost them an additional £56.2 million.
