Nicolas Jackson is closing in on a move to the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.
The 24-year-old Senegalese international has been told he is free to leave Chelsea this summer, with the club having signed Liam Delap and João Pedro. He had been linked with several Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa and Newcastle United, but Germany now seems his most likely destination.
Bayern, who have sold a number of attacking players this summer and need reinforcements in forward areas, initially want to take him on loan — something Chelsea have been reluctant to accept in the past, as it can reduce a player’s value.
However, Jackson’s case is different. He is under a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge and could yet have a future at the club. But with his chances of regular first-team football this season likely to be limited, this arrangement may suit all parties at this stage.
Personal terms have already been agreed.
